CODE OF CONDUCT

Nexus Corporation is a community of mature individuals that; despite not being considered “kid friendly”, requires a standard of conduct to be maintained by all members. We are a diverse community and must take this into consideration in our dealings with one another. Follow the rules outlined below and when in doubt use common sense. The code of conduct applies to all environments where a member is representing Nexus Corp.

1. General Conduct

Treat people with respect, don’t argue for the sake of arguing, no rage quitting, and no drama. Nexus Corp members should be able to work out any problems they have with each other. If you are not able to resolve a problem with another member you may ask a XO/CO to get involved. Remember there is a time and a place for everything. Arguing with someone in the middle a mission is not appropriate. Disobeying orders in a mission will not be tolerated. What ever the issue is, it can be worked out at a more appropriate place and time.

2. Guidelines

In Nexus Corporation we pride ourselves in treating others with respect and consideration. In order to help maintain this standard of conduct all members are required to behave as follows at all times:

2a. Jokes/comments regarding sexual orientation, race, disabilities, religion, or ethnicity will not be discussed or voiced on the forums or on mumble. This is a diverse world we live in and you simply do not know who your “harmless” comment might offend or harm.

2b. Personal attacks of any kind are not tolerated and will result in immediate removal from Nexus Corp.

2c. When posting on external forums keep in mind they are often viewed by a much wider and diverse audience. In addition to the items in 2a and 2b, members shall not post any type of “adult content.” This includes photos, videos and topics.

3. Mumble Etiquette

Use common sense here. We all want everyone to have fun, but not at the expense of others. When someone is in the middle of talking, don't interrupt or talk right over the top of them. Do not spam, yell, scream in mumble. Do not be disruptive in mumble. If you need to vent then take a moment rather than broadcasting over mumble, this will be considered disruptive.

3a. During Official events all participating members should be in the Main Comms Channel. Telling excessive jokes, shouting, or being disruptive in the MCC is prohibited. It is important that everyone is able to hear orders as it could adversely impact the mission if something was missed. If the clear comms command is issued, it needs to be immediately followed.

3b. Currently our mumble channels work as follows:

Recruitment Channel - This channel is restricted to potential recruits and the officers who are interviewing them. Normal members are prohibited from jumping in and out of this channel as it is very disruptive.

Main Comms Channel (MCC) - This is the primary channel to be used during Nexus Corp missions. Squads will create sub-channels under the MCC in order to utilize its functionality. Only the leaders of each squad should speak directly to the MCC. Other squad members should never speak to the MCC unless directed to do so.

You are required to use push-to-talk when speaking to the MCC but it’s not required in the individual squad channels. No one should ever be directly in the MCC, a sub-channel must be created.

Members Area - This channel is for daily chat and should not be used for members who are out on missions. All members are allowed to speak in this channel.

TV and Movies - Members can create sub-channels here if they are interested in having some quiet time while watching a TV show or Movie. Other members are prohibited from disrupting the peace and quiet of these channels.

Meetings and Events - This channel is similar to the TV and Movies channel. Other members are prohibited from entering a meeting room they have not been invited too.

Gaming Channel - The channels can be used by members who are playing games other than Star Citizen. Other members should take care not be disruptive if they enter one of these channels.

AFK - Anyone who enters this channel will be suppressed and unable to speak.

4. Command Structure

- Fleet Commander: In charge of the overall direction of Nexus Corp. All major decisions within the organization must be approved by this person. No members may act on behalf of the Fleet Commander without explicit permission.

- Executive and Commanding Officers: Officers who are directly responsible for the pilots in the organization. All pilots should use these officers as their first point of contact for any Nexus Corp related questions or issues.

- Administrative Officer : These officers are in charge of a specific function within the organization but are not in the chain of command. They are specialized in a certain field and generally do not handle matters outside of that field.

- Operation Leaders: Officers who focus on running in-game missions and assist with training members. They are not part of the chain of command and report to a XO/CO like all normal members. Operation Leaders do not have any authority outside of a mission.

5. Community Warning/Banning System

Nexus Corp will now work on a one warning reform system. On the second infraction you will be removed from the Nexus community permanently. However, you have the chance following your initial warning to reform your conduct. In the case of a severe violation the Fleet Commander reserves the right to remove you from Nexus Corp immediately.

Warnings will be delivered via PM, or in person. A XO/CO will in most cases provide the warning in private so that you are not affected within the wider community, the warnings are meant to give you the opportunity to amend your behavior. Once you receive a warning you must reply acknowledging that you have received the warning. If no acknowledgment is made within three days a XO/CO will approach you directly, so it is important to check your messages or ensure you have provided your email to avoid forcing a XO/CO to approach you directly.

If you receive a warning via PM , do not post on the forums complaining about the warning, otherwise you may find yourself receiving another warning. The warning is not up for public debate. The pm serves as a courtesy to ensure you have every opportunity to continue to function within the community without the warning(s) affecting your status within the community.

5a. Examples of behavior that warrants immediate banning:

- Spambotting/Advertising

- PM'ing any member with harassment with the intent to cause trouble and dissent.

- Forum/Mumble behavior with derogatory language/harassment directed at others

- Insults regarding sexual orientation, race, disabilities, religion, or ethnicity.

- Theft or attempted theft of guild property or the property of a Nexus Member.

5b. Examples of behavior that warrants a warning:

- Breaking any of the established rules located in the Rules and Regulations section of the forums.

- Forum/Mumble behavior with language/harassment directed at other people with the intent to cause trouble and(or) dissent.

- PM'ing other forum members with language/harassment with the intent to cause trouble and(or) dissent. (Anyone who experiences this from another member should immediately send a copy to a XO/CO along with any essential information and block the user, if they don't and they receive more abusive messages it's on their own head. Also note, differing point of view does not constitute harassment)

- Forum/Mumble behavior with derogatory language not directed at anyone.

6. Everyone to Note

Please use common sense, we can't create a rule for every single possible scenario. If you are unsure of something, contact a XO/CO. If you are instructed by a XO/CO to do something, please follow it. If common sense dictates that a members action is wrongful but it is not specifically covered by these rules, they may still find themselves with a warning/banning. It important to be aware of the rules and regulations forums. “I did not know” is never an excuse for breaking a rule when the info is so easily accessible.

Amendments:

1. Exclusivity rule: Members are not permitted to join other player run organizations within the Star Citizen Universe. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you are found to be a member of another group you will be immediately removed from Nexus Corp.

2. Piracy: Members are prohibited from participating in acts of piracy. Any member who is found to have committed piracy will be immediately removed from Nexus Corp.
